Ways to upload
- Drag and drop an
.html/.htmfile, several files, or a.ziponto the upload area. - Click to choose files with your system's file picker — works on phones too.
- Choose a folder to upload a whole site with its sub-folders (desktop browsers).
- Paste instead, if you have the code rather than a file.
- Upload from code with one HTTP request — see the upload API.
Upload HTML vs host HTML — what actually happens
Uploading to a file-sharing service (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer) stores the file; when someone opens the link, they see a download button or the raw code, because those services deliberately refuse to render HTML. Uploading here hosts the file: it is served with the text/html content type from a web server, so the browser displays it as a page. That difference is why "I uploaded my HTML to Drive and it shows code" is one of the most common complaints — explained in why your HTML file opens as code.
Upload checklist
- The main file is called
index.html(or it is the only HTML file). - CSS, JavaScript and images are referenced with relative paths (
css/site.css, notC:/Users/…). - File and folder names match the case used in the HTML.
- External resources use
https://. - Total size is within your plan (2 MB free, up to 75 MB paid).
The HTML viewer is a quick way to spot missing images before uploading.
Where uploaded files live
Files are stored on Cloudflare's R2 storage and served from Cloudflare's global network, so pages load fast worldwide. Each upload is one site on its own subdomain. Free uploads are deleted automatically after 24 hours; you can delete any upload yourself at any time from My links, which removes it immediately.
