1 · Your HTML page → a clickable link
Use the converter above: paste the page or upload it, press Get my URL, and you have a link like https://menu.htmltourl.dev/. Paste it into WhatsApp, Slack, email, a Google Doc, Notion or a bio — it becomes clickable automatically in all of them, and it opens the rendered page, not the code.
2 · A link → the HTML code for it
If you already have a URL and need the HTML that makes it clickable on a web page, this is the tag:
<a href="https://menu.htmltourl.dev/">See our menu</a>
Useful extras:
target="_blank" rel="noopener"opens the link in a new tab safely.href="mailto:hello@example.com"makes an email link;href="tel:+15551234567"a phone link.downloadmakes the browser save the file instead of opening it.
The free HTML link code generator builds these tags (and button-style links) for you, with a live preview.
3 · Make the link look good when shared
When you paste a link into iMessage, WhatsApp, LinkedIn or Slack, they show a preview card built from the page's <title>, <meta name="description"> and Open Graph tags. Add these to your HTML before converting:
<title>Spring menu — Café Lumen</title>
<meta name="description" content="Seasonal dishes, prices and opening hours.">
<meta property="og:title" content="Spring menu — Café Lumen">
<meta property="og:image" content="https://example.com/cover.jpg">
Short, memorable links
A random address is private but hard to read aloud. Type a custom address (3–40 letters, numbers and hyphens) to get something like quiz-week3.htmltourl.dev — easy to dictate in class or print on a flyer. For printed material add the QR code too.
